The lessons I teach are from a research-based program titled Second Step and topics involve the following themes:

• skills for learning like doing our best and perseverance!

• emotion management which involves identifying our feelings and calming down strong feelings.

• empathy and kindness; for example, ways to show compassion and doing kind acts.

• solving problems like managing problems with friends and learning to solve problems on their own.

• bullying prevention and safety which both include the three R’s: Recognize Refuse and Report.
